[What are henna art and jagua art?]
Henna art is a body decoration technique that is popular in India, the Middle East, and North Africa, where the skin is dyed with a plant called henna.
It stains the skin in various patterns of brown.
In Japan, it is also known as henna tattoo, but unlike tattoos, it only dyes the surface of the skin,
It will disappear after about a week as the skin regenerates. Traditionally, it is applied as a sign of good luck, protection from the evil eye, and talisman.
Jagua art is a form of body decoration that originates in the Amazon region.
The skin is dyed a deep navy blue with a dye made from Juniperus americana fruit.
Jagua is also used as a talisman and in medicinal practices.
Both henna art and jagua art are natural body decorations made from plants, and are deeply rooted in the local culture, climate, and lifestyle of the people.
At this event, you can choose between brown "henna" or dark blue "jagua."
